Thanks to these headphones, I remembered how I used to hear the sounds of music in my youth—vibrant, colorful, and vivid. Each song generated vibrations, expectations, sensations, a desire to move to the rhythm, to rejoice. And I wanted this feeling of happiness to never end. Today, listening to CCA Rhapsody, I once again felt like a joyful teenager with an endless, open future.
The headphones are large enough for in-ear monitors. The inner part of the housing is made of transparent plastic on a Three-D printer. The outer part is matte polished metal, giving it an elegant and solid look. The slightly enlarged housing accommodates two eight-millimeter dynamic drivers for full coverage of the low-frequency range. Additionally, each earphone has four balanced armature drivers to handle mid and high frequencies. That sums up to six drivers in each earphone, plus a tuning switch. It's no wonder that CCA Rhapsody is a bit larger than other headphones.
The tonal balance of CCA Rhapsody can hardly be called neutral. There is nothing neutral about it. On the contrary, CCA Rhapsody sounds bright and resonant. That's why they effortlessly transported me back to my youth. The headphones seem to compensate for age-related hearing loss, making me hear like in my youth! The vibrant presentation of the headphones is not fatiguing; it's captivating! I've been a fan of neutral sound for a long time, but now I'm a CCA Rhapsody enthusiast!
The headphones come with three pairs of silicone ear tips and a high-quality white cable. It has a Three-Point-Five-mm jack and a Two-Point-Seventy-Five-mm pin. Optionally, you can order a cable with a microphone.
After listening to a couple of tracks, I replaced the original cable with the balanced Tripowin Seraph and switched to the balanced output of the FiiO KA3 amplifier. The sound immediately improved significantly! The soundstage expanded, layering became apparent, musician images focused, and the sound became even deeper.
Guys, I don't understand why I bother with all these speakers and amplifiers, when for fifty dollars you can get an exciting Hi-Fi sound that you can carry with you all the time!
The bass is audible from the deepest sub-bass. Not every subwoofer can do that. The upper bass seems sharply imprinted on a Three-D printer. The vocals are clear and crisp, every detail is audible. Electric guitars in rock music are depicted as if painted with bright oil colors on canvas! Cymbals are beyond praise. It's rare to hear better at a concert.
