This Technics amp is like if Bruce Wayne decided to get into audio engineering instead of crime-fighting. If you’re asking “Do I need this?” the answer is: No.
But since when has that ever stopped you?
This thing is a temple of sonic overkill, and you—my aspirationally audiophile friend—are the humble priest. Or at least the janitor pretending to be one.

The device is good quality and it sounds really great. But it has two issues.
You cannot switch between L/R channels. It lowers both channels volume. The issue is mentioned on FiiO website.
It has LineOut function, where device is playing on max volume and you can use your computer volume bar, but it is so loud that even on the lowest set it is screaming, so you have to choose another option and adjust volume on FiiO device instead.
I wish I knew it before buying.

Since I've moved from PC to laptop I had hard time with the sound. Both quality and volume. Fiio KA17 came as decent solution. It's really compact, easy to use and good priced. I found it a bit tricky to deal with setting on KA17, but as external audio source for headphones it shines. Sound is clear and distinctive. KA17 can drive even my Sennhieser HD598 headphones although I suppose full size earphones not the best choice for dongle. As to KZ IEM range performance is excellent.
